Traditionally Brewed. Unpasteurised. Full of Life.

Most kombucha on supermarket shelves looks similar. Many even sit in the chilled section. But not all kombucha is made the same way.

At Wellnous, every bottle is naturally fermented in small batches using traditional brewing methods, just as kombucha has been made for generations. The result is a refreshing, lightly sparkling drink with a depth of flavour and complexity that mass-produced products often struggle to match.

What Makes Wellnous Kombucha Different?

Truly Unpasteurised

Many commercial kombuchas are pasteurised or heat-treated at some stage of production to improve shelf life and product consistency. While this is understandable from a manufacturing perspective, heat treatment can reduce or eliminate many of the naturally occurring microorganisms found in traditionally fermented kombucha.

Wellnous Kombucha is never pasteurised. It remains a living fermented drink.

Small Batch Brewing

Large-scale production often prioritises consistency and speed. We prioritise quality.

Each batch is carefully monitored and fermented slowly, allowing the culture sufficient time to develop the complex flavours, organic acids and fermentation compounds that make kombucha unique.

Less About Sweetness, More About Fermentation

Unlike many soft drinks, flavoured waters and some commercial kombuchas, traditional kombucha undergoes a genuine fermentation process where microorganisms consume much of the original sugar.

The result is a balanced sweet-and-tart flavour profile with refreshing acidity and natural complexity that develops through fermentation rather than relying solely on added flavourings.

Real Ingredients

We start with quality tea, filtered water, sugar and an active SCOBY culture. Natural ingredients such as fruits, herbs and spices are then used to create unique flavour combinations.

No artificial colours. No artificial sweeteners. No unnecessary additives.

Just real fermentation and real ingredients.

More Than Just a Soft Drink

Many people enjoy kombucha simply because it tastes great.

Others choose it as an alternative to highly processed soft drinks, energy drinks or sugary beverages. Kombucha has been consumed for centuries and is valued for its distinctive flavour, natural acidity and the variety of compounds produced during fermentation.

Research into fermented foods and the gut microbiome continues to grow, although it is important to remember that evidence for specific health effects of kombucha itself is still developing. For this reason, we focus on what we know with confidence:

  • It is a traditionally fermented food.
  • It contains compounds produced during fermentation.
  • It offers a refreshing alternative to conventional soft drinks.
  • It can be a simple way to include fermented foods in your diet.

Crafted Locally

Every bottle of Wellnous Kombucha is brewed locally in South Wales.

When you buy from Wellnous, you're supporting a local producer who genuinely cares about quality, fermentation and helping people discover better alternatives to highly processed drinks.

You're not paying for a national marketing campaign or a multinational beverage company.

You're buying from someone who brews every batch with the same care and attention that started as a passion for fermentation at home.

Available Flavours

Our flavours change throughout the year, but favourites often include:

  • Ginger & Lemon
  • Raspberry & Mint
  • Mixed Berry
  • Orange & Turmeric
  • Lavender
  • Christmas Mulled
  • Pumpkin Spiced

A Living Drink

As an unpasteurised fermented product, every bottle contains a living culture. You may notice natural sediment, scoby strands or small pieces of culture developing over time. This is completely normal and is a sign of authentic fermentation.

Store refrigerated and enjoy chilled.
